Earth Day Celebrations

Our class participated in many Earth Day activities over the past week. We learned about how humans are harmful and helpful to the environment. We made an art project that included our promise to care for the planet. We also attended an assembly where the student voice students (Diana & Jeremy) presented interesting facts about the Earth. We sang several songs including "Touche pas à ma planète" which can be viewed HERE.

Tom Ethans from Take Pride Winnipeg spoke to us about the "Easy as 1, 2, 3" program and how we can make a difference to keep our province clean. There is a letter going home explaining the program or you can visit the WEBSITE. Congrats to Matthew who has already registered and started.

Finally, Mme Hussey challenged each class to write a poem which included the following words: environnement, pollution, déchets, recycler, planète. We wrote poems in small groups. The winning poem for our class was by: Hannah T., Shea, Kamal & Parker. They read their poem at the Earth Day assembly.
L’environnement

Pour arrêter la pollution,
Il faut recycler – c’est la solution,

Il faut mettre les déchets à la poubelle,
Pour assurer que la Terre soit belle,

Rejoins nous et pars en guerre,

Pour aider la planète Terre!
